2014 NHBC  “Pride in the Job” winner again

Pride_in_the_Job

Fielden are delighted to announce that site manager Kevin Shaw has again won this year’s Pride in the Job Quality Award and Seal of Excellence Award.  Recognised as the Oscars of the house-building industry, Pride in the Job’s role is unique, as it is the only awards event that focuses on the contribution of site managers in producing high-quality new homes.

Kevin was selected from around 15,000 site managers across the UK to win one of 450 Quality Awards and Single Home Commendations. And from the 450, 130 managers were then chosen for the Seal of Excellence Award, of which Kevin was one.

Judging for the awards is meticulous, beginning a year before the announcement of the first round of winners. As well as undergoing spot checks of the day-to-day running of their site, each site manager is assessed across 38 areas of site management, including their technical knowledge, consistency in the build process, leadership and organisational skills.

Only site managers who demonstrate exceptional standards in every aspect of their work on site and in the homes they build will be considered for a Pride in the Job Award.

With the challenges currently facing the industry, building high-quality new homes has never been more important. Winning a Pride in the Job Award is a visible demonstration of Kevin and Fielden’s overall commitment to high standards. The homes built on Church Farm, Aldeburgh and the new 4 home development in Mill Road, Friston demonstrate this achievement.

A Topping out ceremony to celebrate the completion of a house commissioned for Mr Roger Baxter designed and built by Fielden Ltd. This event took place in the newly built house and was attended by all the staff and contractors involved in this prestigious building.

At a Topping Out it is customary to place a tree on the top of a new building to bring good luck or to fly a flag from the highest point. On this occasion all the crafts men and staff signed an oak plaque to be placed in a suitable place chosen by the owner.

Site Manager, Kevin Shaw made a short speech thanking the men for their dedicated workmanship and wished Roger Baxter and his wife much happiness in their new home.

A buffet luncheon was provided by Graeme and June Bloomfield in appreciation of the excellent work carried out during this project.Topping_Out_at_Park_Road_Aldeburgh
